"David Sanborn is the best!" 2010-03-03
By K. Depman (Philadelphia, PA USA)
The album is very enjoyable, and the version of "Hideaway" on this CD is longer and a lot more fun than the version on his Greatest Hits CD. My favorite of Sanborn's is actually his Double Vision CD, which he does with Bob James.

 "Very good album" 2009-04-07
By Nicolas W. Dubin (Michigan)
I normally do not love "smooth jazz" and I'm what you would call a "purist" but this album is an exception. Perhaps it is because I became acquainted with this album as a child or maybe it's perhaps the music is just plain good. Whatever the reason, I dare you to find a more melodic, graceful and romantic piece of music than that of Carly's Song, obviously written for Carly Simon. I have 3 particular favorite cuts on this album but virtually every song is good. It's a throwback sound, of course, and you'll instantly recognize it came from the late 1970's, early 80's upon hearing the opening title cut of Hideaway (in fact, Hideaway came out in 1980). But the music doesn't sound dated. It remains fresh and alive, even to this day.

"David Sanborn at his absolute best" 2006-09-09
By Tim Horn (Acworth, GA USA)
I've been listening to David Sanborn since the late 70s, and I'm a huge fan of his. I have lots of his albums, but this is the one I keep coming back to. It is truely Sanborn at his best. It showcases his range of styles, from the title track, to Creeper, to The Seduction. I miss listening to this one on vinyl, because The Seduction is the last track on that side, and it gives you a chance to just soak up the memory of the song in silence after it's over - followed by "I gotta hear that again". The whole album is filled with the signature Sanborn style that has made him the super-star he is. If you've never listened to David Sanborn before (and you have, whether you know it or not), this is the album to start your collection with.

 "Pure and Funky Sanborn" 2005-02-01
By Henry Cooper (Atlanta, GA)
Highly recommended if u want to hear some more Sanborn in your neighborhood. I definitely appreciate it you won't be disappointed! This is a high standard 4 Sanborn. It incls. the love song "The Seduction" from the movie "American Gigolo" (which I seen twice but I have the soundtrack to it). David Sanborn should have won a Grammy 4 this one if he created this album.

 "A Masterpiece!!!" 2004-11-08
By Adrian Justice (El Cerrito, CA United States)
This was the one of David's early albums and I believe one of(IF NOT THE BEST)ones he made.He has made many great albums since then but this still remains one of his strongest. If you want to go back start with this one.
